President Obama talks to school children on Sept. 8, 2009

By elizabethcassidy • September 9th, 2009

I personally would like to thank President Obama for talking to the children in our country.  It was inspiring and I only wish he could do it more often.  Kids need to be inspired to do their best.

I hope the parents who shielded their children from seeing this speech are feeling pretty foolish right about now. I hope you will all take the time to think about what is causing this fear you have.  I hope you do some soul searching. Hate and fear can really mess you up.

May we look at this as a way to open the door to better understanding about what our president would like for us and our country.

How ridiculous to protest a president’s (any president’s)urging students to be the best they can be. Children need to see figures of authority promoting education, as so much else in the media does not support hard work and good values.

Excellent point Meg. It is a sad statement on our nation that people would get up in arms about a president’s speech the kids in this country.
I wish I could have experienced my president talking to me when I was young.
