Some things are meant to be. Back in March of this year my friend saw a flyer at the local library for a two-day creativity & development workshop to be held there. Immediately my curiosity was piqued; but since it was offered during work hours I couldn’t attend.
Two days after my friend brought home the flyer, I lost my job. With no warning. It was a Monday. The sessions at the library started on Wednesday. Tentatively, I went (but what else did I have going on?? Nothing. And who the heck was I to have a “coach”??) I’ve been going regularly since.
Losing my job was a devastating blow on many levels, the least of which was income; surprisingly, the most effect it had was on my self-esteem. I left that job battered, and angry at the way I’d let myself take that job just to ‘stay afloat.’ I’d become frustrated with everything… and everyone close to me knew it.
And that is how I met Elizabeth Cassidy of Branching-Out Life Coaching.
Elizabeth has provided so much valuable input into my life. She is a sage and wise guide who brings great wallops of humor and expansive thinking to our discussions. Under the surface of every job I’ve ever had, I’d known I was meant to be doing something else if I only knew what or how. In this time since being cut free from the going-nowhere job I am changing from a rudderless boat – meandering around open water – to having direction. A lot of directions. I see options where previously I had dark, tunnel vision. I’m still working out the details but Elizabeth’s guidance and exercises have been invaluable in helping me redirect myself and my talents into a life I am proud to say I own.
With Elizabeth’s help, I have learned to identify my values (like choosing not to work for impulsive and damaged people!), rekindle my talents (writing and other creative avenues) and own and embrace all these abilities (this is a work in progress and it feels great!) I’ve been about to create visions for myself and goals, long and short term. It’s not always easy, change is scary, but I am confident I will achieve something greater for myself.

As a result of a serendipitous meeting, I have become a part of a life coaching group with Elizabeth Cassidy. I am so fortunate to be a part of this group. Elizabeth is supportive, caring, funny, and she sees something good and amazing in all of us (even when we don’t see it ourselves). Prior to meeting Elizabeth, I felt at a loss with my work. I know I am good at what I do; I know I have talents that translate into creations I am proud of. However, I have allowed my fears to drag me down. It feels like a life line has been tossed out to sea to drag me back in from the murky, ominous ocean. I now have more confidence and am working on specific plans to move my career in an exciting and new direction. I am writing this with such gratitude to my Life Coach, Elizabeth Cassidy. I’ve had a few coaching sessions with her regarding my new business EXPANSION and found that she has been able to guide me into doing things I never thought I’d do! She has a way of making something that seemed tedious to me in the past, become simple and do-able. Setting three month goals for a six month period would have never been attractive to me in the past, but with Elizabeth, I was excited to get it all down and follow the plan. Every piece of advice she has offered is like a little golden nugget. I am still in awe of all of the options and suggestions that she has tucked under her hat!
I’ve had sessions with a life coach in the past and was not overly impressed. The coach was a dedicated person, and loved what she was doing, but doesn’t hold a candle to Elizabeth’s abilities and knowledge. I have gotten so much out of our coaching sessions that I find it hard to express in just a few sentences, how happy I am with the direction my business is taking. It’s really Branching Out!

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Elizabeth Cassidy during a very difficult time in my life. While undergoing treatment for breast cancer, my dear father passed away. After much prayer and soul searching, I made the decision to resign from a high level Branch Director position. Being a single parent made this an even more difficult decision to make as I did not have another job in place. Elizabeth gently reminded me that I needed to take care of myself first in order to take care of my son well. Through her encouragement and support I made the transition to a job doing what I am passionate about that suits my family life better. She has had the experience of “reinventing herself” and was able to motivate me to do the same through her spiritual nature, insightful tips and her wonderful sense of humor.
